Folk Alliance Australia Board members will be at the National Folk Festival in Canberra this Easter (14 to 18 April).
Were hoping to catch up with many of our members and supporters.
Annual General Meeting
FAA will hold our Annual General Meeting on the Sunday at 5.00pm at The Terrace.
We will have Zoom Linkage if you wish to join us online.
Apart from Reports and Updates we will welcome new Committee members and outline our plans for the 2022 Australian Folk Music Awards.
Forum – Imaging The Future Of Folk
We will also be presenting a fantastic Folk Forum titled Imaging the Future of Folk with a range of well-known folk artists and activists presenting their visions for Australian Folk. This will be held on Saturday 1.20pm – Old Troc Stage.

The Gulgong Folk Festival returns in 2022 – 16 April.
The event will be held at The Price of Wales Opera House in Gulgong, NSW and the headliners are Day of Embers, The Honey Sippers, Sally Andrews, Linda Mizzi, Stringline, Franz James and Daryl James.

Folk Alliance International will be holding its annual Conference in Kansas City Missouri and on-line May 18-22, 2022.
The Conference features a bustling exhibit hall with organizations doing business in the folk industry. The virtual stall option is available and booths must be confirmed by March 31, 2022.

The concertina convergence is organising another series of video submissions, seeking interpretations and performances of collected bush tunes – polkas, waltzes, reels, mazurkas, schottische and barn dance. Each video should have an introduction with the tunes having a twelve minute maximum.

Our partner, website host and associated services business, Bandzoogle has reported that its artist members made $9.9M in commission-free sales through their websites last year.
The report takes a look at the most successful ways musicians have been making money, in the hope to spark some ideas for all independent artists.

The 2022 Palm Creek Folk Festival will be held June 9-11 at the Foots Hill Station, Reid River, QLD.
The festival theme this year is ‘Celestial’.
Only 1,500 camping tickets are available, with the Station having the most amazing night skies – some telescopes will be provided. You can choose from one, two or four night camping tickets or come for the day Saturday or Sunday.
This year’s line-up includes Vaudeville Smash, We Mavericks, Legends of Perhaps, Andrea Kirwin, plus local favourites.
Presented by the Townsville Folk and Acoustic Music Club.

Melbourne folk/alt-country duo The Weeping Willows have released a long-awaited third studio album You Reap What You Sow.
The pair, Andrew Wrigglesworth and Laura Coates, were Duo/Group of the Year at the 2021 Australian Folk Music Awards, have won CMAA Golden Guitar and Music Victoria awards and have toured extensively in Australia, the USA and UK.
