The Awards Night – Australian Folk Music Awards 2022

November 4, 2022 by FAA Board

Brunswick Ballroom

Australian Folk Music Awards 2022

Awards Presented 26 October Brunswick Ballroom, Melbourne

It was a night where the folk music community across the country were brought together to celebrate its talent and diversity.

Folk Alliance Australia would like to thank sincerely all those involved in making the second edition of the Australian Folk Music Awards (AFMAs) a great success.

Judging by the size of the crowd, the number of artists, event organisers and managers on site and the hefty list of well-wishers from across the continent, plus the number of on-line hits of our live stream, we are so pleased with the level of engagement for the Awards.

Thanks to the beautiful live performances on the night from Charm Of Finches, Khristian Mizzi, Bush Gothic, Paddy Montgomery (with talented friends), Oceanique (their first performance outside Western Australia) and The Lost Clogs. The evening also had well-wishing and performance clips from around Australia, so a big thank you those involved for taking the trouble to provide a true national flavour for the evening.

We would also like to say how much we appreciated Fiona Ross and Derek Guille for being the hosts for the evening and to Board member John McAuslan for his unstinting efforts to produce the show.

Here are some photos from the night – all images by David Harris.
