Warren Fahey’s Sydney’s Video Series
Sydney abounds with curious history.
Some stories are known but many others have disappeared over time. Cultural historian and storyteller, Warren Fahey, has created a dozen video stories of Sydney’s past – from its convict history through to its colloquial ‘slanguage’.
The video series has been released on the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia (NFSA) website.

Adelaide Songs – Singing About a City
Started in 2015, The Adelaide Songs project focuses on the city’s history, people, places and identity.
Begun as a project of HATs Inc (Heritage Arts & Traditions) this group of songwriters and support musicians have written almost forty songs about “the city of churches, pubs and murders”.
Following on from their recent successful Adelaide Town Hall concert for the Adelaide Fringe Festival they now have a CD with eleven of these songs available for purchase at their new website.

National Folk Fellowship 2022
Applications Open Until 21 June 2021
Applications for the 2022 National Folk Fellowship program are now open and will close at 12pm, Monday 21 June 2021.
The annual National Folk Fellowship is offered jointly by the National Library of Australia and the National Folk Festival.
The National Library holds the most significant collections of folklore and related material in Australia. This Fellowship offers a unique opportunity for the recipient to discover and explore original collected material at the Library for use in their own artistic work.
The outcome of this residency at the National Library will result in a performance at the 2022 National Folk Festival, and any recordings arising from the project will be acquired for the National Library’s Oral History and Folklore collection.
