Festivals of Australia

Australia is the world's largest island continent and in this list you will discover that our festivals bring its people together in the celebration of music, song and dance.
Across Australia you will find a regular calendar of festivals loosely referred to as 'folk festivals'. Their programming covers a wonderfully eclectic roll call embracing contemporary songwriting, blues, world music, bluegrass, country, jazz fusion, circus, gospel, poetry and yarn telling, Celtic music and, of course, many homegrown cultural expressions unique to Australia. Many festivals also offer exciting children's programming, folk craft, films and dance. Food culture is another important aspect of Australian festivals.

Australia is blessed with a relatively temperate climate so you are just as likely to find events slap-bang in the middle of winter as the long summer.

Come explore our festivals and sing, play, laugh and dance your way around Australia.
