conference for anyone invovlved
in playing folk music or organising
folk events.  It takes place at the
Sydney Mechanics Institute of Arts
on the weekend of 30-31 August.

Folk Alliance Australia promotes, supports, and lobbies
on behalf of folk events and activities. 
This year, the FAA has brought Christina Mimmocchi on board as Development Manager (aka "stuff doer").
Negotiated the cheapest insurance rates in Australia for folk musician/performers.
Built on its youth encouragement initative by
developing a partnership with the National Folk
Festival.
Sought government funding for a much needed
overhaul of their website and in support of other
activities.
